isoHunt Indexes 1 Millionth Torrent Very nice...
The year of 2008 has been a whirlwind of accomplishments and accolades for isoHunt. Earlier in February, AMD donated 2 Opteron 2532 Quad cores, which were immediately put to use on their web server. Later in the month, Slyck reported that isoHunt upgraded their environment by implementing what Gary Fung called one of the most important features in 5 years with the roll out of a torrent rating system. The new rating system has been overwhelmingly successful, and helps root out corrupt files that once threatened to undermine the file-sharing community. "It has been a long time coming, but with steady growth of active torrents from around the Web (which I'll call the Torrentsphere from now on if you don't mind), isoHunt's index reached the 1 million torrents milestone 2 hours ago," Gary announced earlier today. Here's an updated graph of the torrents count over time: Today's announcement marks a milestone for isoHunt, and for the BitTorrent community. 2008 has been kind to the BitTorrent community, as MiniNova celebrated its 4 billionth download, The Pirate Bay celebrated 10 million users and 1 million tracked torrents, while isoHunt today enjoys its 1 millionth indexed torrent. Despite the entertainment industry's best efforts to disrupt the growth of the online distribution of information, it seems there’s nothing that can stop BitTorrent from reaching new heights.
